A Monthly Case Study From The Scarborough Jobmatch Team

Chris Branston – Case Study

I was 14 years old when I first started my work experience for Scarborough Job Match, I started becausemy school does a work experience program and I was placed with Scarborough Job Match for administration duties such as photo copying, typing up CV’s and other documents, setting out training rooms and any other job I was needed for. At first I wasn’t quite sure on how well I would do and how much I would enjoy it seen as I am really into technology and fixing computers.

On the first day the internet went down and I asked John if I could help fix it with him, I took a look and eventually got it working, and from that point I was assigned to more IT-based work. I did my week of work experience fixing any tech problems and also doing some administration duties and helping with a STARS event they were putting together.

After my week I contacted Katie to see if I could do some voluntary work for them throughout the summer holidays and throughout the holidays I have done more IT-based work and any jobs I have been asked to do such as working on reception and helping customers search for jobs online.

I couldn’t have asked for a better place to go for my work experience and I hope this isn’t the last time I see the staff from Scarborough Job Match, they are an amazing group of people and I couldn’t have felt more welcome at a place I never been to before and I hope to see them all again soon.

A big thank you to all the SJM team for an amazing place of work experience and for letting me carry on with more work throughout the holidays!
