Sous Chef / Chef De Partie

We are currently recruiting for our busy client who is an established 18th Century Coaching Inn. They are seeking a Chef de Partie or Sous Chef as they expanding their current knowledgeable catering team.

Role / Responsibilities:

 

  • Produce dishes to specification in a timely manner to ensure smooth daily operation and customer satisfaction.
  • Promptly provide your line manager with any information which may impact the success in meeting core objectives.
  • Ensure that company systems are adhered to and maintained.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained to a high standard and always remains ‘fit for purpose’.
  • Manage and deal calmly with unexpected situations
  • Support daily service ensuring presentation of food is compliant with restaurant standards.
  • Assist your co-Chefs in menu compilation and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the full menu.
  • Compliance with food labelling and temperature controls.
  • To ensure minimum kitchen wastage.
  • To follow the cleaning schedules for the kitchen and clean the section and other areas as directed.
  • To ensure stock is controlled and rotated.
  • To report any maintenance issues.
  • To comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure that all-statutory regulations are observed.
  • To comply with the conditions of the food hygiene policies.
  • Knowledge and experience of professional cooking to support the kitchen team and efficiently run the kitchen.
  • You will work quickly and calmly when under pressure.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with kitchen operational and quality procedures.

Essential / Desirable experience required:

Hours include evenings, weekend and bank holidays

Minimum qualification - NVQ Level 2 Food Service

Having a driving license would be desirable due to the establishment’s location.
